Since returning to Cagayan de Oro in 2009, Dr. Fernando Jay Dy III has been steadfast in his commitment to providing quality surgical care, practicing at Madonna & Child Hospital. With roots deeply embedded in medicine—as the son of a surgeon and internist—Dr. Dy has continued the legacy of excellence and service.
A graduate of BS Biology from UP Diliman (1997) and Doctor of Medicine from Xavier University – Dr. Jose P. Rizal School of Medicine (2001), he completed his surgical residency at East Avenue Medical Center in 2007. He became a Diplomate of the Philippine Board of Surgery in 2010 and went on to earn prestigious fellowships from the Philippine Society of General Surgeons (2012), the Philippine College of Surgeons (2016), and the American College of Surgeons (2016). He also holds a Master’s in Hospital Administration from Philippine Christian University (2023), underscoring his commitment to continuous growth and leadership in healthcare.
Dr. Dy has played a significant role in the Philippine Society of General Surgeons – Northern Mindanao Chapter, serving as Chapter Officer from 2018 to 2020 and as Chapter President (2021–2024). He also dedicates himself to training future doctors, having served as Clinical Faculty at Xavier University (2013–2017) and now as Faculty and Chairman of the Department of Surgery at Liceo de Cagayan University – College of Medicine (2017–present).
Outside of his professional life, Dr. Dy is a devoted husband to OB-GYN Dr. Ana Lorain Abel-Dy and a proud father of two.
