Madonna and Child Medical Center Illuminates in Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness

Cagayan de Oro City, October 1, 2025 – Madonna and Child Medical Center proudly joined the nation in celebrating Breast Cancer Awareness Month through the simultaneous Pink Lighting Ceremony, held in partnership with the Philippine College of Surgeons (PCS), the Association of Women Surgeons of the Philippines (AWSP), and the Inner Wheel Club.

As evening fell, the hospital’s facade radiated in pink—a powerful symbol of strength, hope, and solidarity with breast cancer warriors, survivors, and their families. The illumination serves as a reminder that behind every light shines a story of courage and compassion.

The Pink Lighting Ceremony is a nationwide initiative that transforms landmarks and institutions into glowing beacons of awareness every October. It aims not only to honor those battling breast cancer but also to inspire communities toward early detection, prevention, and continuous support for cancer care initiatives.

“Illuminating our hospital facade in pink is more than a symbolic gesture—it’s a powerful expression of our unwavering support for every patient, survivor, and family affected by breast cancer,” said Dr. Fernando Jay Dy III, MCMC Medical Director. “Madonna and Child Medical Center reaffirms our commitment to providing compassionate care while shining a light on this critical health issue.”

By participating in this initiative, Madonna and Child Medical Center underscores its commitment to health advocacy and community support. Beyond providing world-class medical services, the hospital continues to play a vital role as a partner in awareness, education, and empowerment.

✨ In line with this advocacy, MCMC is offering a 30% discount on Mammogram and Breast Ultrasound services throughout October 2025—encouraging more women to take proactive steps in protecting their health.

As Breast Cancer Awareness Month unfolds, the glowing pink lights extend an invitation for everyone to take part—whether through regular screenings, spreading awareness, or offering support to those affected.

💡 Together, let us shine brighter and stronger in the fight against breast cancer.
