July 26, 2025 — Madonna and Child Medical Center proudly marked its 49th Founding Anniversary, commemorating nearly five decades of compassionate care and unwavering excellence in healthcare services.
The celebration began with a solemn Thanksgiving Mass officiated by Rev. Fr. Tex Bontol, MI, attended by the hospital staff, management, and stakeholders. Following the mass, an inspiring anniversary message was delivered by Mr. Rhais Gamboa, President/CEO of Mount Grace Hospitals, Inc., expressing gratitude and pride for the hospital’s remarkable journey. The event also featured heartfelt messages from Madonna and Child Medical Center’s very own President, Mr. Herman T. Esling, and Medical Director, Dr. Fernando Jay Dy III, both highlighting the institution’s commitment to holistic and patient-centered care.
One of the highlights of the celebration was the awarding of the winners of the 49th Anniversary Decoration Contest, anchored on the theme: “49 Years of Compassionate Care & Unwavering Excellence.” The Laboratory Department emerged as the Best Decorated Department, scoring an impressive 96%.
In conjunction with the anniversary celebration, the hospital also recognized the winners of the MCMC Sportsfest 2025, which promoted camaraderie, teamwork, and wellness among employees. The champions in the various categories were as follows:
- Men’s Basketball – Team Nursing Service
- Women’s Basketball – Mixed Team (Marketing, Safety, Information, Nursing, and JDS)
- Mixed Badminton – Team Business Office / IT Department
- Women’s Volleyball – Team ICU / Respiratory Department
The celebration was made even more meaningful through the support of Unilab Inc., one of the hospital’s long-time partners, who distributed free vitamins to employees and walk-in patients.
To bring joy to patients and visitors alike, the hospital organized fun and heartwarming activities including balloon twisting for pediatric in-patients and outpatients, distribution of candies to random visitors, and the provision of free food carts offering ice cream, popcorn, cotton candy, and fries for everyone in the hospital premises. All in-patients also received specially prepared “Get Well Soon” anniversary cards as a token of care and encouragement.
